Interim Library closed: We are here to help via email and telephone until we reopen!
From 31 August, the service desk in the Z Building will be closed whilst preparations are made for the library’s reopening.
The University Library building is expected to reopen from mid-October 2026. Due to the preparations required for this, our on-site services at the temporary library will be limited from 31 August 2026.
In light of this, we would ask you, as library users, to take note of the key questions and answers regarding the library’s services:
Until the library reopens, we ask that you complete your discharge declarations digitally whenever possible. Please email your pre-completed discharge declaration to us at bibliothek(at)htw-dresden.de. Otherwise, you can have your discharge declarations signed in person during service hours, Monday through Friday between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.
You can pay fees in person Monday through Friday between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. and between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., or by individual arrangement. To do so, please contact us by email (bibliothek(at)htw-dresden.de) or by telephone (0351 462 3696). Please note: We currently only accept card payments.
You can order printed materials via the library catalogue. The University Library team will contact you by email as soon as your order is ready for collection. Collections can be made Monday through Friday between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. and between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., or by individual arrangement.
In front of the main entrance to the library building, you will find a drop-off box for returning materials. It is accessible on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The easiest way to renew borrowed items is via your user account in the library catalogue. Alternatively, you can contact us by email (bibliothek(at)htw-dresden.de) or by telephone (0351 462 3696).
The library’s electronic resources (e-books, e-journals, databases) remain available to all members of the HTWD without restriction, as usual, via the campus network or via a VPN client.
Due to the move, the study spaces in the interim library in the Z Building will no longer be available until the library reopens.
Until then, you can search for available rooms on the pages showing the current timetable and room allocation in the internal portal.
The library’s printing service will not be available until the library building reopens.
